BELLBROOK — Fresh off its first victory of the season, Bellbrook looks to make it two in a row with a home game against SWBL-foe Eaton.
Bellbrook used a second-half burst for a 21-16 win over Valley View a week ago. The Eagles drew first blood in the first quarter on a 3-yard run by QB Jay Bucher, which was set up by a 35-yard pass to Kyle McKinnis on a diving grab. Bucher added an 18-yard touchdown pass to Brad Combs on the opening drive of the second half and later tacked on a 1-yard touchdown plunge.
Now, after getting the monkey off its back with the first win of the season, Bellbrook has to face an Eaton team that comes in with a 4-2 record.
“It doesn’t get any easier there,” Bellbrook head coach Kevin Basinger said. “Hopefully we can come back and just take one step at a time and play well. They’re [Eaton] a very good team so hopefully we’re ready to play, we give them a good game and come after them.”
Eaton comes in off a tough 36-28 loss to Milton-Union last week. Eaton quarterback Austin Fudge threw three touchdown passes in the loss, two of which went to Ryan Paxson (9 yards and 19 yards). Dalton Caudill added a 15-yard touchdown run for the Eagles.
